Plenty of logos and drawings only exist as a JPG: a photo of a sketch, a scan, a file someone emailed you. Lumagely traces the shapes in the JPG into vector curves and saves an SVG you can scale, recolor and print at any size. JPEG compression leaves faint noise around edges, and the smoothing and color controls let you clean it up. Everything runs on your device.

How to convert JPG to SVG

  1. 1Drop your JPG or JPEG files in. SVG is already selected as the output.
  2. 2Choose Color for multi-color artwork, or Black & white for sketches, signatures and line art.
  3. 3Fine-tune colors, detail and smoothing, then download the SVG or a ZIP of the batch.

Good to know

  • Best for logos, drawings, signatures and flat artwork, not for photographs.
  • Black & white mode turns scans and sketches into crisp single-color vectors.
  • If JPEG noise shows up as specks, lower the detail or raise the smoothing.

JPG to SVG: common questions

Can I convert a photo to SVG?

You can, but a photo has thousands of shades, so the SVG ends up large and posterized. Vectorizing works best for logos, icons, drawings and other flat graphics.

How do I vectorize a hand-drawn sketch or signature?

Scan or photograph it on plain paper, then use Black & white mode. More smoothing gives cleaner lines, and less detail drops the paper texture.

Will the SVG look exactly like my JPG?

Tracing simplifies the image into shapes, which is what lets it scale. If you need an identical look instead, Exact mode embeds the original image inside the SVG.

Is the conversion private?

Yes. The JPG is traced locally in your browser and never uploaded.

Everything you can do

Compression, format conversion, resizing, cropping and watermarks, all in one tool that runs in your browser.

  • Smart compression

Shrink PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF files with WebAssembly codecs. Choose Smart Auto, lossy, near-lossless or fully lossless.

  • Target file size

Enter a limit in KB and Lumagely finds the best quality that fits. Handy for upload caps and email attachments.

  • Convert & HEIC to JPG

Convert between PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG, and move old GIFs to a modern format.

  • Resize, crop & rotate

Resize by pixels or percentage, crop to any aspect ratio, rotate or flip, and apply it to the whole batch.

  • Batch watermark

Stamp a text or logo watermark on every image and set its position, size, opacity and margin.

  • Private & offline

Images are processed on your device in Web Workers, with no sign-up. Once the page and a format’s codec have loaded, they keep working offline.

Supported formats

The formats the modern web runs on, plus iPhone HEIC.

  • HEIC

Convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

  • PNG

    Lossless compression with OxiPNG.

  • JPEG

    High-quality photos with MozJPEG.

  • WebP

Smaller photos and graphics, lossy or lossless.

  • AVIF

Modern format with the best compression for photos.

  • SVG

Convert GIFs to modern, smaller formats.

Why Lumagely?

100% private

Your images are processed on your device and never uploaded to a server.

Fast

WebAssembly builds of MozJPEG, OxiPNG, libwebp and libavif run at near-native speed in your browser.

Free, no limits

No sign-up, no forced watermarks and no cap on how many images you optimize.

No ads, no tracking

There are no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. The page’s security policy blocks connections to any other server, so no third party ever receives your images.

Location data removed

Phone photos often carry GPS coordinates. Strip metadata (EXIF) is on by default, so the files you download don’t reveal where a photo was taken.

Check it yourself

Open your browser’s developer tools while converting: the Network tab shows that no image is sent anywhere.

Browser-based vs. upload-based

Typical upload tools

  • Images are uploaded to a server
  • Sign-up or usage limits are common
  • Often split across separate tools
  • Privacy depends on the provider
  • Free plans often limit how many or how large your files can be
  • Often ad-supported, with third-party trackers
  • Every file waits for an upload and a download

  • No sign-up, no account
  • Compression, conversion, resizing and social sizes in one place
  • Private by design: nothing leaves your browser
  • No limit on the number of files, up to 256MB each
