A PNG is a grid of pixels, so it turns blurry when you scale it up. Lumagely’s vectorizer traces the shapes in your PNG into smooth curves and saves them as an SVG that stays sharp at any size. That’s what you want for logos, icons, stickers and cutting machines. The tracer runs as WebAssembly on your device, so your artwork is never uploaded.

How to convert PNG to SVG

  1. 1Drop your PNG files in. SVG is already selected as the output.
  2. 2Choose Color or Black & white tracing, and adjust colors, detail and smoothing if needed.
  3. 3Download each SVG, or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Good to know

  • Works best on logos, icons, line art and flat graphics with clear edges. Photos turn into large, blotchy SVGs.
  • Color mode traces up to 32 colors. Fewer colors give a smaller, cleaner file.
  • Exact mode embeds the original pixels in the SVG, for when you need an identical look rather than editable shapes.

PNG to SVG: common questions

What kind of PNG converts best to SVG?

Images with solid colors and sharp edges, such as logos, icons, clip art and text. Photos have too many subtle shades to become clean vector shapes.

Can I edit the SVG afterwards?

Yes. Color and Black & white traces produce real vector paths that you can open and edit in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or any other vector editor.

How do I get a cleaner result?

Use fewer colors and more smoothing for simpler shapes, or raise the detail to keep small features. Black & white mode suits line art and stencils.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The vectorizer runs entirely in your browser, so your artwork stays on your device.

Everything you can do

Compression, format conversion, resizing, cropping and watermarks, all in one tool that runs in your browser.

  • Smart compression

Shrink PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF files with WebAssembly codecs. Choose Smart Auto, lossy, near-lossless or fully lossless.

  • Target file size

Enter a limit in KB and Lumagely finds the best quality that fits. Handy for upload caps and email attachments.

  • Convert & HEIC to JPG

Convert between PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG, and move old GIFs to a modern format.

  • Resize, crop & rotate

Resize by pixels or percentage, crop to any aspect ratio, rotate or flip, and apply it to the whole batch.

  • Batch watermark

Stamp a text or logo watermark on every image and set its position, size, opacity and margin.

  • Private & offline

Images are processed on your device in Web Workers, with no sign-up. Once the page and a format’s codec have loaded, they keep working offline.

Supported formats

The formats the modern web runs on, plus iPhone HEIC.

  • HEIC

Convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

  • PNG

    Lossless compression with OxiPNG.

  • JPEG

    High-quality photos with MozJPEG.

  • WebP

Smaller photos and graphics, lossy or lossless.

  • AVIF

Modern format with the best compression for photos.

  • SVG

Minify vectors, or trace raster images into SVG.

  • GIF

Convert GIFs to modern, smaller formats.

Why Lumagely?

100% private

Your images are processed on your device and never uploaded to a server.

Fast

WebAssembly builds of MozJPEG, OxiPNG, libwebp and libavif run at near-native speed in your browser.

Free, no limits

No sign-up, no forced watermarks and no cap on how many images you optimize.

No ads, no tracking

There are no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. The page’s security policy blocks connections to any other server, so no third party ever receives your images.

Location data removed

Phone photos often carry GPS coordinates. Strip metadata (EXIF) is on by default, so the files you download don’t reveal where a photo was taken.

Check it yourself

Open your browser’s developer tools while converting: the Network tab shows that no image is sent anywhere.

Browser-based vs. upload-based

Typical upload tools

  • Images are uploaded to a server
  • Sign-up or usage limits are common
  • Often split across separate tools
  • Privacy depends on the provider
  • Free plans often limit how many or how large your files can be
  • Often ad-supported, with third-party trackers
  • Every file waits for an upload and a download

  • Images stay on your device
  • No sign-up, no account
  • Compression, conversion, resizing and social sizes in one place
  • Private by design: nothing leaves your browser
  • No limit on the number of files, up to 256MB each
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies
